it’s been a while

like almost a year since I started the last cycle.  To update anyone who happens across here it was a success in all senses of the word.  One little baby and 5 frosties!  Oye.  Why couldn’t we have had those frosties the first time.  Well now I know because then we wouldn’t have this sweet little girl that we now have.  Very uneventful pregnancy this time around.  No bed rest, no bleeding, no pre-term labor and a very short delivery.  4 pushes and she’s here.  I did opt for the epi and thank god I did because it was messy after.

Life with 2 is much busier.  Heck it was obviously busy with just one because I totally negelected my blog.  So that’s my little update.  If you’re thinking about donor eggs or in the process of making your baby don’t give up hope.  It can and does work.

Great Beta!

First Beta is in, actually so is the 2nd and they are both great numbers and are doubling nicely!  Such a relief.  Ultrasound in a couple of week – eek. Start to feel a bit yucky, but maybe it nerves.  The smells are hitting me hard – I work with a ton of stinky people come to find out.  Things that taste good…  lemonade, sour jelly beans, strawberries, cranberry muffins and french fries.  Pizza is sounding good for lunch today.  Hope it’s got lots of garlic.  Poor baby.   My pants are a wee bit tighter, but no weight gain yet.  Thinking I might check out my stash of maternity clothes soon.  You know see what  I need to buy this time around.  The timing is very similar so I might not need much.  And I know what I like so I do know I need a few things.

I tested!

And it’s two lines!  woohoo!  Just a week till beta.  This time I’m much calmer and not in such a hurry for the beta.  Wondering when I will start to feel it.  It was a long weekend and I tried to keep busy.  Tried.  I almost cheated and tested yesterday.  Probably should have.

Day three after transfer

Not feeling much today – a little cramping here and there.  Busy with work and enjoying some very nice spring weather!  Hoping to test in a couple days.  Why not test early is my thought.  Not sure if it worked and this way I might just find out even sooner if it did.  In comparing the embryo pictures online I would say this embryo is very promising, even more so than our last one and he’s just an awesome little one!

So while ramping up for this cycle I did all sorts of things that I knew I wouldn’t be able to do once transfer day came.  So the last month or so I very much enjoyed wine with dinner, beer with nacho’s and anything else it went with, Italian subs (cold cuts), chili dog’s, regular hot dogs, diet coke, coffee, iced tea and deli sandwiches.  Each time I’ve been pregnant I’ve been turned off by chocolate – yes crazy I know.  Last night I had a brownie sundae and it didn’t hit the spot.  That’s encouraging or my mind is playing tricks on me.  No coffee has been ok and my caffiene withdrawl is pretty much over with.  Last night I slept all night long!  Didn’t wake up until 4:30 am.  That is very unusual and I’d like to credit the no caffiene with that bonus!  woohoo!  I know it might be short lived so I will enjoy it for now.

Day two after transfer

We’ve got cramps!  Woohoo!  I’m hoping that means something good.  I’m also hungry and have gone to the bathroom an excessive amount of times at work today.  I’m drinking way too much water.  5 more days till testing!  I’m calm so far and trying to just enjoy the thought I might actually be pregnant.  The world can crash later – right?

Day one

Trying to keep my feet up and enjoy a little pampering.  Ha who am I kidding.  I’m awful about keeping off my feet, but  I did a pretty good job the first 24 hours so that should mean something.  I’m not feeling much at this point other than hopeful.  The weather is awesome and I’m going to head outside to sit in the sun and read a little bit.  Loving the Hunger Games at the moment.  Really want to go see the movie this weekend.

Transfer Day

We’ve got a blast on board!  Appears we might have a couple more to freeze which made the decision to transfer one all that much easier.  Time is flying and with the 2ww beginning I fear it may slow to a crawl.    I should be able to test at home in about a week and maybe get the correct answer or not.  PIO shots and delestrogen shots are continuiung for now.  My bum is getting sore.  🙂  All for a baby I hope!

5 day transfer here we come!

Heading to DC for a 5 or 6 day transfer!  All embies are doing great and I could be more over the moon.  A week or so from now I’ll be able to POAS.  With a 5 or 6 day transfer you can find out earlier because there is no “trigger” of hcg in your system.  So while they call it the 2ww (two week wait) it’s really a week in my book!  Time to go hit up the pharmacy for some of those silly sticks that I am dying to use.

Can’t believe it’s almost time to meet our sweet pea’s – hoping there are a whole bunch of them!

grow babies grow!

Time for a happy dance!  So far so good – so good in fact we are heading hopefully for a 5 day transfer!  I will find out tomorrow!  Fingers crossed we get a couple frozen this time for future cycles.

So the big debate.  One or two at transfer?  Can I handle twins?  Most certainly I can handle whatever I am given.  Will it upheave our lives.  Most certainly just adding another baby to the mix will do that.  I’m in favor of waiting until the day of transfer and discussing it then.  If it appears none will make it to freeze I’m all for two on board.  If there are three good ones I’m all for one on board and two on reserve.

Since starting the pio I’ve noticed my belly appears pregnant already.  Too much food or weight gain?  The scale is not showing a weight gain, but my jeans are getting tighter.   I was hopping to not face the music so fast this time.  Oh well all for a good cause right?
